Susan Lisa Owens, a native of Upper Montclair, New Jersey, moved to Naples in 1992. She has had a lifelong interest in music, ranging from instrumental studies in cello, trombone and French horn and later focusing on voice as a contralto, studying with Walter Blazer of The Manhattan School of Music. In New Jersey, she was an active member of the New Jersey Oratorio Society, the Montclair Operetta Club and the Montclair Community Chorus. She has performed abroad throughout Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.
After moving to Florida, Susan became a charter member of the Naples Philharmonic Center Chorale and the Philharmonic Center Chamber Chorale. She is also a staff singer in the Choir of Trinity-by-the-Cove. Susan is the mother of Naples Music Club Scholarship winner, Kelsey Owens, who is now a student at The Bower School of Music at FGCU.
