Rumy Wildner, organizer of the Summer Scherzos performance group reports the following:

“The Summer Scherzos August 2015 meeting took place at the home of Milana Strezeva.  An accomplished pianist herself, she was kind enough to offer her home to us and give us the chance to play on a Fazioli pianoforte.

Handcrafted in Sacile, Italy since 1981, this piano was developed by Paolo Fazioli, a pianist and engineer, who has suceeded in creating a handcrafted piano that is considered the best piano being manufactured today. It has taken the front stage in many international piano competitions.

President Gordon Hammes plays for the group.

So for us pianists, Marilyn Stanhope, Margot Prendergast, Clare Burden, Joan Tischler, Rumy Wildner and Gordon Hammes, it was a  special treat to play on such an instrument.

While the June and July meetings were mainly dominated by pianists, this time we had two clarinetists, Martin Cohn and Frank Burgeson. two violinists, Stuart Warshauer and Edward Brennan, and two singers, Geraldine Gale and Jerry Casey, showcase their talents. Clare Burden, pianist, received a warm thank you for being the main accompanist for many of our performers.

Although pianists, Sonya Light, Janet New, and Aleta Dean did not play this time, they were there to support us.  We also had in attendance Geraldine Gale’s husband, Ronald Gale, and Kathleen Silverman, friend.  It was a pleasure to meet you and hope to see you in our forthcoming meetings.

Our next Summer Scherzos meeting will take place September 12th at the home of Jeannette Boucher.  Look forward to seeing your there.”
