Under the leadership of Rumy Wildner, the Summer Scherzos performance group has been very active with great music shared by all.
Rumy comments, “I would like to thank Maurizio Nisita and Marilyn Stanhope for hosting these meetings and giving us the opportunity to get together and share our music. Our last meeting at Marilyn’s was augmented with Rachel Cox’s wonderful violin playing, and Jerry Pyser’s, Martin Cohn’s and Stuart Warshauer’s Klezmer Band Music. Stuart explained that the word Klezmer means “instruments of music” and is a musical tradition of the Ashkenazi Jews of Eastern Europe. Whenever I listen to Jerry’s, Stuart’s, and Marty’s rendition of this music, it reminds of the Bulgarian folk music I heard among my Dad’s friends.
I also want to thank all of our piano soloists who make our Summer Scherzos such a success.”
Please let us know if you are interested in participating in one of our performance groups.
