School-age students of Naples Music Club members are eligible to participate in a program of Club-sponsored recitals that was started in the fall of 2008.

This program has been developed to help students build confidence and develop stage presence, to encourage students at an early age to enhance their ability to memorize music for performance, and to provide an opportunity for students to develop their listening skills as they hear other students perform. Teachers, family members and friends are encouraged to attend.

Each performance lasts approximately one hour. The doors open a half-hour before the performance time listed, at which time those performing are requested to arrive so that protocol for the recital can be reviewed. Students performing should wear concert attire and are urged to remain for the entire recital. There is no charge to perform or attend, although donations to the club’s Scholarship Fund are always greatly appreciated.

An application form is included here for downloading. It includes application deadlines, which are usually about one month before the recital date. Each student entry must include the teacher’s name and contact information, name of the student, age, level of ability, name of accompanist (if any), piece to be performed, composer, and performance time (generally not to exceed 7 minutes, but exceptions will be considered for advanced students). Entries will be processed on a first come first serve basis, with late entries accepted whenever possible. Students should be well prepared, and memorization of music is strongly encouraged.
