Nadia Marshall, 2011 First-Place winner of a Naples Music Club Vocal Scholarship funded by the Naples Opera Society, is now completing her music degree at the School of Music at Florida State University.  We are pleased to announce her upcoming performance on March 7, 2016.

At the March 7 recital, volunteers from the  United Arts Council of Collier County (www.uaccollier.com) will be present to gather information for an Economic Impact Study researching the impact of the arts on the economy of Collier County. This research is part of a national study done in partnership with Americans for the Arts.  PLEASE speak with the volunteers and answer a few pertinent questions.

Nadia Marshall: Bio

Nadia Marshall is a senior Vocal Performance major at Florida State University. She will be performing the role of Valetto in Monteverdi’s opera L’Incoronazione di Poppea with FSU Opera this April. In February, she performed in Lori Laitman’s opera The Three Feathers, which was abridged by Laitman for the FSU Opera Outreach performances. The FSU Student Opera Society (S.O.S) has featured Miss Marshall as Flora in Liaisons (a musical revue set to the plot of Mozart’s Così fan tutte)and Countess Charlotte in A Little Night Music and in the summer of 2015, she performed as Poisonous Flower in La Hija di Rappaccini by Daniel Catán with FSU Opera. She also appeared as an ensemble member in FSU Opera’s Don Giovanni and La Navarraise as well as productions of Faust, Carmen, Requiem (Verdi), and Showboat with Opera Naples. Miss Marshall is a 2016 Winner of the Southwest Florida Symphony Society Scholarship Competition. Other honors include Most Promising Musician at the Orfeo Music Festival Competition in Italy and was Finalist at NATS Southeastern Regional (three-state) competition in 2015. She was also a Winner of the Voices of Naples Competition in 2012. She participated in the Orfeo Music Festival (Vipiteno, Italy 2015) and the Bel Canto Vocal Institute (Florence, Italy 2013). Besides her musical interests, Miss Marshall enjoys languages and athletics. Her academic pursuits include a double minor in Italian and French. Nadia is the Performance Coordinator of the Anhelo Tango Club at FSU as well as the Secretary of FSU Boxing. She has been an avid member and teacher of tango and boxing for four years.
