Longtime supporter of the Naples Music Club as well as other area musical organizations, Dwight Richardson brings to the Naples Music Club Board finely honed skills in management and varied experiences as a french horn player.
During his formative years he was raised in a small town in Missouri. He started piano lessons and was given a mellophone in the 7th grade. Within the year, he went on to study french horn, which has been his instrument of choice since then. Dwight graduated from the University of Missouri with an A.B. degree in Personnel Psychology, having interrupted his studies by serving as a bandsman in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. He worked for AT&T in a range of management positions for 31 years, during which he earned an MBA degree from Pace University.
Dwight and his wife, Angela, also a musician, moved to Naples in 1987. Since then he has performed in a woodwind quintet and a brass quintet, as a member of the Naples Concert Band, Gulf Coast Symphony, and Charlotte Symphony (Punta Gorda), and has worked alongside students of the Edison College Orchestra and Concert Band. He served on the board of the Naples Concert Band and was its president from 1994-97. He also served on the Collier County Planning Commission for 4 years ending in 2005.
Dwight has been serving for the past two year’s as the Naples Music Club’s representative on the Board of Bayshore Cultural and Performing Arts Center.
