“A Magical Evening of Harp and Flute Music”

Dickie Fleisher and Janelle House, harpists, will join the 7-member “Flute Cocktail,” directed by Wendy Willis, in concert. Dickie Fleisher is the renowned principal harpist with the Naples Philharmonic, and Janelle House is the inspirational young harpist who won the Naples Music Club’s top award, the Turiel, in 2001. “Flute Cocktail” is an acclaimed ensemble made up of outstanding professional and amateur flutists that performs frequently in the Naples area.

This exciting 21-year-old pianist, who won the Naples Music Club’s Turiel award in 2006, is completing his undergraduate degree in piano at Eastman School of Music this year. His performance is certain to be a riveting one that will reflect his passion for connecting music and audiences. A Community School graduate, the recital is Alden’s gift to the community and to the Naples Music Club, which he credits for making him the musician he is today as a result of the monetary awards and performing opportunities the Club provided during his earlier school years in Naples.

In the superb setting of Maestro Noll’s salon, surrounded by stunning works of art, pre-eminent master musicians from Southwest Florida will contribute their talents in a dazzling display of virtuosity. Champagne, savories and sweets will follow.

This popular recital will introduce the outstanding top winners of the Club’s 2010 Student Scholarship Competition to the membership and to the community. All winners will be announced and will receive their awards at the conclusion of the recital, after which there will be a special party to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Naples Music Club’s Scholarship Competition.
