Canadian-born pianist Anne McLean holds a Doctorate of Music (U.B.C. Vancouver, Canada) and a National Concert Artist’s Diploma from Switzerland. She has performed as a soloist in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, England, Australia, France, and Switzerland. In 1995 Anne was recruited from Canada to teach at Stetson University’s School of Music in DeLand, Florida.
In Orlando she served as Chair of the Music Advisory Committee from 2000-2010 for the Festival of Orchestras, a non-profit organization that brought five world-class orchestras to Orlando each year. Anne McLean developed the “Great Composers Series” for the Festival of Orchestras’ Youth Program, and in that capacity she performed musical presentations to over a thousand children in primary schools throughout Central Florida for many years. Dr. McLean was a regularly featured guest on WMFE Public Radio in promotional broadcasts for Orlando’s “Festival of Orchestras Series.” for nine years. She continues to be an active soloist and presenter of the International Rachmaninoff Society (U.K) and the Florida State Music Teachers Association. In 2011 Dr. McLean chaired the annual State Conference for the F.S.M.T.A. held in Daytona Beach.
Dr. McLean currently teaches privately at her piano studio in Naples. She also enjoys accompanying, performing chamber music and teaching pre-school music. Anne is delighted to join the Naples Music Club Board of Directors, and looks forward to sharing her many interests with music-lovers in Southwest Florida.
